The 17 hot springs heated by an underground volcano. The beautiful region of Pamukkale, Turkey, was used as a spa for healing thousands of years. The healing properties of the region drew people from all over, and the Romans built the ancient city of Hierapolis it. To help preserve the area, hotels and access roads were cut and artificial pools were created to help maintain the natural beauty of Pamukkale.
